Portfolio: Webdesign #1

This case study aims to show you how the e-swoosh web design process works. Because each website is different, the work flow can vary slightly depending upon the clients requirements - that includes methods of contact, how many meetings are held and so on.

This website brief was simple: To create a 'different' looking website for a bow maker.

>  1. Make Contact - Howard approached e-swoosh initially with a short phone-call [that lasted approximately 20 minutes].
Howard explained how he lived quite some distance away, and was happy to do business over the phone and using email - Although ideally we do like to meet our clients at least once during the project lifespan.

>  2. Mockup Stage - Here we try to bounce about 2 or 3 ideas around with the client to try and find the best suited design for their needs.
In this case we had at least two good designs, but always include an extra one or two designs in case the client has different ideas altogether, it is during this stage that the client makes e-swoosh aware of any colour requirements and existing logos etc.
In Howard's case, he sent us an email with some images attached of his works of art and his workshop.

4. Bow heads on left hand side, content on right hand side.

5. A standard website - similar to the e-swoosh site but themed around music.

>  3. Shortlist - The shortlist is arrived at through consultation with the client. All of the concept designs that make it onto the shortlist are made into basic website designs, and these in turn are then sent to the client for further discussion.
Here are some [unfinished] examples based on the above concepts:

>  4. Final design picked - Together we [e-swoosh and client] discuss which designs have the best features, and which design we think would work best for your cause.
In this case design #2 / concept #2 was selected for it's 'different' look; something Howard was keen to have.
We make progress and update the client regularly - with an online preview area setup especially for our clients.

>  5. Final proof sent to client - If all has gone well, we send our final proof to the client with content and all features installed.
Final changes are made and then, following final payment the website is launched!.

Then over the weeks to come we make sure your website is ranking well in search engines, and do all we can to support you with after-sales care.
